The mind is a glorious and wonderful machine. But sometimes it slips a cog or two and needs some common sense plugged in. A bit of wit or wisdom to lubricate its inner workings. Kick your shoes off...that's what this place here is for!

Happy St.Valentine's Day to you, dear friend(s). I thought I might intervene and tell you that St. Valentine's feast day was first established in 496 by Pope Gelasius, and that in the fourteenth century G. Chaucer and company in England gave us the first associations of Feb. 14 and St. Valentine with romantic love. Because the Catholic church authorities decided that St. V was not traceable to a single individual, but possibly several, officially Valentine's feast day was removed from the Church calendar in 1969, along with many others, including St. Christopher. Of course, there was rebellion over this!
Interesting! :-D
