Lighthouse
People who know me know I love lighthouses... the older the better... but this picture almost looks like it could have been painted on a cave wall! Actually my good friend Mary Stebbins Taitt sent me a beautiful work she did of the Lighthouse in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, and I did this detail from it in Picasa, just for fun.
(See http://nerdshot.blogspot.com/2008/02/grosse-pointe-lighthouse.html for the original)

Getting the "old stone" look was the major battle here... I also made versions in several other tones that I may post later.
wow, now that is beautifully done. I love original artwork on canvas or wood...and watercolors. Thanks for sharing!
This is, I'm afraid to admit, Sandi, only electrons in a computer file. It was created entirely from a photo of a wallpaper sample and software and ingenuity. But I still am in full agreement with you...that's exactly the appearance I was striving for! Thank you!
Nicely done derivative art. :-D
Thanks for the credit.
The link could go directly to the actual piece.
Noted and corrected, Mary! Thanks for keeping me on the beam!
